The guarantee, stated plainly

If your primacy agency rejects your CCR for missing federally-required content that our agent should have caught, we refund 100% of your fee and fix it.

Who this applies to

  • The compliance guarantee applies to customers on the Pro and Full Service tiers.
  • It applies to a Consumer Confidence Report that you published through 1water.ai for the reporting year covered by your subscription.
  • It applies to rejections by your state primacy agency or EPA Region (whichever has primacy for your system).

What counts as a qualifying rejection

A qualifying rejection is a written finding from your primacy agency that:

  • Identifies specific federally-required content from 40 CFR 141 Subpart O (§ 141.151 through § 141.155, plus Appendix A) that is missing, inaccurate, or improperly reproduced in the published CCR;
  • Is sent to your utility within the reporting year (i.e. before the primacy agency closes review for your filing cycle); and
  • Was not caused by data you chose to override, omit, or modify after our agent flagged it with a warning or failure.

What doesn’t count

  • Rejections for state-specific content on a state for which we do not yet ship an overlay (see the regulatory hub for current coverage). The federal baseline is always covered; state overlays are what they are.
  • Rejections where you supplied incorrect source data and the agent surfaced a warning you dismissed.
  • Rejections caused by distribution problems (e.g. a mail-merge failure on our Lob integration) — those are covered by the distribution SLA, not the compliance guarantee.
  • Rejections on content outside 40 CFR 141 Subpart O (e.g. state notification requirements outside the CCR rule).

How to file a claim

  1. Within 30 days of receiving the rejection notice, email hello@1water.ai with the subject compliance guarantee claim.
  2. Attach the primacy agency’s rejection notice (or forward their email).
  3. We’ll confirm receipt within one business day and open an evidence review.
  4. If the claim qualifies, we’ll refund 100% of your CCR fee to the original payment method within 10 business days and work with you to correct the filing.

What “fix it” means

If the rejection was caused by a bug in our agent, we ship a fix — to you first, and then to every customer — and we publicly document the fix in the changelog. If the rejection was caused by a gap in our state-overlay coverage, we add the overlay for your state and back-validate any customer whose next CCR would have been affected.

No arbitration tricks

This guarantee is a contractual commitment, not a marketing slogan. It applies regardless of arbitration or dispute-resolution clauses elsewhere in your agreement with us.
