Terms of Service.
These terms govern use of the 1water.ai platform. Plain-language sections below; procurement teams can request a signable, counter-signable PDF of these same terms.

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of 1water.ai (“we,” “us”), including our marketing site, the 1water application, any APIs, the published CCRs we host for you, and any related services. By using the platform you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the entity you represent.
2. The service
1water.ai is an agent-native compliance platform for U.S. community water systems. The Consumer Confidence Report agent drafts, validates, and publishes reports required by 40 CFR 141 Subpart O. Additional surfaces (Compliance Validator, LCRI, sampling, service lines) may be added over time and are covered by these Terms unless a separate addendum supersedes them.
3. Your account and data
You retain ownership of any data you upload. We retain the right to operate the service against your data for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. Tenant data is scoped by PWSID; we enforce tenant boundaries at the database layer via row-level security.
4. Pricing and billing
Current prices are published on the pricing page. One-time CCR fees cover drafting, validation, publishing, and 5-year retention of that report. Subscriptions renew monthly and are cancellable anytime. All prices are in USD.
5. Compliance guarantee
On Pro and Full Service tiers, the compliance guarantee applies as stated there. It is a contractual commitment, not a marketing promise.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- Publish reports for water systems you do not operate or are not authorized to represent;
- Circumvent the compliance checks (e.g. by altering the published output after our validator has cleared it);
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract training data from the platform;
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
7. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other’s non-public information with reasonable care. Our SOC 2 readiness documentation is available to Pro and Full Service customers under NDA.
8. Retention
Per 40 CFR § 141.155, we retain your published CCRs, compliance reports, and distribution logs for a minimum of five years. You can export this data any time through the dashboard or API.
9. Termination
You can cancel anytime. On cancellation, we keep your data accessible for the 5-year retention window and then delete it on request. If you reactivate within that window, your historical data is intact.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted. The compliance guarantee is your sole contractual remedy for rule-coverage errors on published CCRs; our liability beyond that is limited to fees paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware, to which both parties consent.
